Because of the strong wind, my stove pipe was blown out of shape during my last camping. This is very dangerous. Now, I want to try hot tent camping again. But before that, I want to know how you guys protect the stove pipes when camping?

As the height of the stove pipe is very high, please protect it carefully when burning the stove, especially to prevent the pipe from shaking. That's too dangerous.

You can use a stove spark arrestor. The spark arrestor can be fixed by ropes to stabilize the stovepipe and the stove. It works well.

Make the stove and flue stable enough on the ground. Must not be shaked at all.

Do not camping in rainy, windy, or any special weather. That's not safe.

If possible, get more stainless steel rings to keep the flue tight

Using spark arrestor and wind ropes is a good way. BTW, I saw someone used a pole to fix the flue. Seems also a good idea. Just try it!

Support pole works well. Bury the pole in the soil and tie the stove pipe to the fixed support pole.

Keep the damper and the flue well joint. Press the last pipe ring down until the connection does not shake. This is important.

Three points get fixed, everything will be OK
1. the stove legs fixed on the ground.
2. the connection of stove and flue.
3. the top of the stove pipe, mostly refer to the spark arrestor.
Every point is very important, don't miss them, especially in windy days.
