There is no tent without dew. The principle of condensation is that the temperature in the tent is higher, the temperature of the tent wall is lower, and the water vapor in the tent condenses on the tent wall. The human body at night by the respiratory system and perspiration moisture in 200-500ml. (not many!) If there is a lot of perspiration water, if the temperature is very low and the temperature in the sleeping bag insulation layer drops below the dew point, the water will accumulate in the sleeping bag insulation layer. This is one of the most important issues to consider when camping for a long time in winter. Simply put, in a cold environment, whether it is single-layer or with internal and external curtains, if the design of the ventilation hood is not good, this problem can not be avoided. Why? First, understand where the water comes from. In terms of sleep, one is the water vapor evaporated from the body, and the other is the water vapor exhaled from the mouth. The words "Qi" and "steam" are very different. Water vapor can be breathed out from the coated fabric with an air permeability function. In the beginning, water vapor is breathed out of the mouth. Due to a large amount of exhalation, water vapor changes when the mouth is cold. The white one is already a tiny water drop, which is larger than the micropore of the breathable coated fabric, and rarely can be breathed out.

There are many ways to avoid it:

1. Keep ventilated. Depending on the design of the tent, each has its own advantages. Especially for the single-layer bottom (the floor and the tent are sewn together), the top must be well ventilated, or condensate will flow down

2. Choose a double-layer tent with a breathable inner curtain at the bottom of the bag. Condensate will flow down the outer curtain. Here, we must pay attention to the air permeability of the inner curtain. If the air permeability is not good, it is very dangerous, but the condensate is good. In a cold environment, if the condensate continues to frost on the inner curtain, resulting in a completely airtight closed inner curtain, it will be stuffy.

3. As for the large tent, it can make a fire without making a fire. Under the condition that there will be no water vapor, the breathable fabric tent (cotton tent without weight requirements, which is breathable and moisture permeable) should be selected, and the one with good water splashing resistance should be selected, which will reduce the permeability after the waterproof fabric is wet.

I'm looking at options for a 4 person tent for backpacking with my wife and two kids(7 & 9 yr old boys).

Been kicking around using (2) 2-person tents or a 4-person tent.

Curious if folks have gone through the same process and what they landed on?

Appreciate any input.

Burn the wood into a layer of coal. After that, remove any non combustible materials. Then, lay the remaining coal evenly on the bottom of the furnace. Put a small amount of kindling on the coal. After the fire is properly burned, add some medium-sized wood blocks and a large slow burning wood block to the fire. Preferably pine, oak or pecan. Burn the logs until there is a layer of hot coal. Then reduce the air flow and ensure that it is not completely cut off.

I want to buy a hot tent so that I can use it for the rest of the hunting season and also in the coming winter. I looked at a lot of hot tent with stove jack, and finally found that pomoly and snowtrekker are suitable for me. But I don't know about their product experience. Can anyone know which of these two brands is better?

I have never done this to spend the night alone in the wild. I always feel there is a potential danger?
